About Us
Mott Family Farm was established in 2005 upon the purchase of an Amish produce farm in Middlebourne, Ohio. Escaping the Southern California suburban scene, Jeff and Shelley Mott sought to create a homestead where their lives would embrace a more sustainable life: every activity, crop and purchase is thought out to ensure a more sustainable end. Among their favorite activities are talking with enthusiastic chefs and customers, frequenting amazing eateries, hanging out with friends, worshiping God and travel.

Our Philosophy
Our family believes in being good stewards of what God has blessed us with: our health, each other and our land. This has led us to truly examine every decision we make regarding simplicity of life, how we raise our food, how we treat our animals and how we train our children. We believe that if we feed the soil, the food we grow will then nourish us, our family and the community around us. Using permaculture ideas, draft horses (and a small tractor!), dairy goats, a family cow, solar panels and a wind generator, we have been able to enjoy a more sustainable life.
